Carolyn J. Hays

Treasurer

Carolyn was inducted as a member of Crossroads Rotary for the second time in February, 2024, and is serving as treasurer of the club. She first joined Crossroads Rotary Club in 2009. At that time, Manzoor Massey was president of the club. She started doing the club newsletter that year, then in Rotary year 2011-12, she served as president of Crossroads Rotary.
This was a great year with great Rotarians, she recalls. One of her favorite projects was a community service project at the baseball park in Loma Linda. The club planted half a dozen trees and installed a very nice park bench on the grounds with the inscription, San Bernardino-Crossroads Rotary.
Carolyn also helped Rotarian Bernice Lowenstein and Mary Beth Norris with an Early Act Club for Bradley School in San Bernardino, and because of her experience with Crossroads, Mary Beth Norris became a member of the club. Continuing to serve Crossroads Rotary, Carolyn accepted the position of Club Secretary in 2015- 16.
Club president that year was Terry Davis who named Carolyn as Crossroads’ Rotarian of the Year. Between Rotary years 2014 and 2023, Carolyn was Secretary for District 5330 and served under five governors starting with Joe Ramos in 2014-15 and Shab El Awar 2014-15. After a short break from Rotary, she rejoined as a member of Rotary Club of Redlands in 2020 and once again served as District Secretary for Barry Valdez’s year as Governor in Rotary years 2020-21, in Rotary years 2021-22 and 2022-23,
she continued to serve as District Secretary for Governors Dan Goodrich and Don Casper. Carolyn first became a Rotarian in 2008 and was a member of Hemet Sunrise Club. This breakfast club was perfect fit since she could attend Rotary before meeting her first class of the day as a college professor and Department Chair in Business and Accounting at Mt. San Jacinto Community College.
She was privileged to know Rotarians like PDG Rich and Sue Dell’Aqua and Red Peryea, distinguished members of Hemet Sunrise.
Carolyn lives in Redlands with Partner, Greg Brittain. She and Greg serve the community as cabinet members of the Redlands Tea Party Patriots. Carolyn also currently serves as HOA Manager for Vista Loma Village, the condominium development where she lives in Redlands.
